10 Break Up Commandments

Dependent upon the relationship, breaking up could be the easiest or the most painful thing you will have to do but regardless of the situation I have created some " Break Up Commandments" :

  1. Thou shall not drunk dial/text
      1. I know that the alcohol can have us in our emotions sometimes and have us feeling like we need to get some stuff of our chest. JUST DON'T DO IT.. resist the urge to call or text your ex especially when you are intoxicated nothing good will come from it.
  2. Thou shall not backslide
      1. There was a reason why you left and contrary to the hype there is so thing as " No strings attached" sex especially between exes because there was once love there hence "strings". I know it may seem easy or safe to release that sexual tension with someone that you already know intimately. Go to the gym, take a cold shower, watch porn anything but do not fall into that sand trap.
  3. Thou shall not vent on facebook
      1. The fact that you are willing to give that person even three minutes of your time to create a status about them is three minutes to much. Don't fall into the trap of airing your business on social media websites its classless and tacky. Instead journal your emotions, talk to friend a pastor but do not take it to facebook.
  4. Thou shall go for the rebound
      1. Take your time do not fall into a relationship until you have completely over the last one.
  5. Thou shall not be " just a friend"
      1.  It does not work there is no thing as " Friends" that use to be in love especially after a break up
  6. Thou shall not eat your feelings
      1. This is something that I struggle with when I am emotional I often find myself eating anything I can put my hands on but that is not the answer, EVER. Channel that energy into a project that you have been putting  off or join a book club, take a class anything but emotional eating
  7. Thou shall allow yourself time to heal
      1. It is okay to be hurt even if you know leaving was the right move it still hurts so allow yourself time to heal and use that time to reconnect with your star player, YOU
  8. Thou shall bounce back
      1. After the healing comes the "comeback", learn from the past and use it to make better decisions.
  9. Thou shall not carry past baggage into next relationship
      1. Let it go
  10. Thou shall live your best life
  11. Bonus one : MOVE ON
