So in honor of my first Life Lesson's Podcast " Who do you love " this weeks post is how I learned how to love myself ... Be willing to feel pain and take responsibility for your feelings The worst thing that we can do is to pretend like we have never been hurt before. We are taught that allowing yourself to feel pain is a weakness that is not true. It is okay to feel the hurt allowing that hurt to control your actions is what makes you weak, turns you bitter and give you living death. Move into the intent to learn You can love someone you do not know, you have to take the time out to study who you really are, what you really want and where you really want to be ...

Speak The Name

Happy Sunday Team : I know it has been a LONG while I appreciate you guys allowing me the time to deal with my personal life issues while I rebuild myself from the inside out.  So, since I believe in being totally translucent with you guys. I will give you a snapshot of how I have been  since we last spoke and where I am now.  In a nutshell I did not really deal with the lost of my grandmother in 2017 and that depression slowly but surely crept into every aspect of my life. I  was settling and loosing myself to this world. I somehow lost my connection with my higher power, if I am being honest I was mad at God because he had removed another great woman from life. I appreciated all the blessing he bestowed upon me but I was still kind of hurt by the lost and because of that me and God became like distant friends, I acknowledge who he was but I did not seek him out . So, this leads me to where I am today?  After a series of both life changing and devastat...

It's Not In My Blood

It’s been a long time and I have so much more to talk about because there is so much going in the world but because May is Mental Health Awareness Month I wanted to touch on the issue.   You all know that I love music, so when I heard this song by Shawn Mendes it immediately spoke to me. If you know me or follow then you know that I lost my mother when I was 14 years old and honestly it is a wound that never heals. I endure but I miss her daily. But on top of that me and my mother has other issues; my father said we are so much alike that we repelled each other.   Nevertheless, my mother passed away and I felt guilty and hurt but I never had time to truly process that pain.   In most black family, we endure “God never gives us more than we handle” and we push on. But the pain doesn’t go away it just fest almost like a smoldering volcano. So, my life went and I had some great accomplishment but I also had some tragic lows.   In, my senior year of high ...

Missing You

This is by far the hardest thing I must write in a while but the only way to get through is to go through. So here I go Mother’s Day this year was the hardest. You may ask how your mother has been dead for 18 years now but it still hurts but this year was different because my paternal grandmother wasn’t here. It was like a double heart break and although I spent the day with my maternal grandma my heart was still aching. I have tried since she passed away to cope to implement the tools she instilled in me on how to deal with death. Never question God and I haven’t. Trust God’s word and I have. My grandma taught me so many lessons, she has so much faith in me, in family but the one thing she never taught me was how to live with her. When she passed away I asked the question, “How do you heal your hurt, when your hero dies?”  I wish I had answer but I don’t and have been slowly spiraling that has come to a silent but emotional head on Mother’s Day.  I have going to throug...

YOU WONT FIGHT ABOUT IT OR WILL YOU ??

I have been going through a very private yet emotional conflict over the last 6 to 7 months and it has cause me a lot of stress and worry. My life was spiraling and although I was not doing anything crazy I was losing pieces of myself which is not cool. So, last week I sat down with my journal and my pen as often do I started to create a list of things I had not yet to accomplish in my life, goals I have given up on, things I have taken for granted and things I still want to do . AS I wrote and just let my emotions pour on the page on the last line I wrote “I BET YOU WONT FIGHT ABOUT IT”.    If you know me then you know that is one of my favorite   phrases after I talk shit to someone almost like I taunt to get a reaction out of person but as I look at my journal I had to think , who was I taunting at this moment, who was I trying to get a reaction out of?   Then it clicked I was taunting myself because I had allowed life and all the drama that comes...

Who Can Love You Better

I think one of the hardest things that I had to learn as I began to grow into the woman that I am becoming is to learn how to love myself. I know that for some to hear this its with that you do or your don’t but if you live long enough and endure life then you will understand that sometimes this world can bring you so low that you began to loathe the image looking back at you in the mirror. Not loving one often comes from not truly knowing oneself and the power that is inside you. Self-hatred has nothing to do with looks, body shape or insecurities and everything to do with the love. Not truly loving oneself, what love is and not knowing your higher power.   I really don’t know when I fell out of love with myself but I know how I fell back in love with Destiny and the steps I took to get there. 1.        Let Go of my pain and anxiety a.        This would be one the hardest things that I had to endure. I mean I h...

What is GOD calling you to DO?

I had the great blog in my mind to write for y'all on Saturday but literally as I set down to write it my mind went blank.I tried for two days to get back my message and then I realized that my internal conflict has been creating a mental block. You see I am believer in Jesus Christ and although I never push my religion on anyone I still try my best to live my life according to his will. I have not write been doing that I mean I have recharged my passion which is non profit work with hopes of creating a HOPE center for my city but there has been another calling tugging at my heart that I have been trying for the last six months trying to ignore or maybe out run but then I heard a word .. You can not out run  God. John 14:15 state " I you love me, you will obey what I command". I have not been doing that I have been running afraid of what people might think about me, not wanting to become a hypocrite or the type of "church folk" that i always talk about bu...
