Man in the mirror

I honor of  the life  and legacy of  Micheal Jackson I have dedicated this post to him. I absolutely love this song but for a long time it took me a long time to truly understand what he was trying to say with this song. But once I got I got it and I ran with it, So, let me break it down to you . In this song , Micheal is saying that in order to change the world, make things better in life and the lives of others we first must love ourselves. WE CANNOT BECOME WHO WE ARE DESTINED TO BE IF WE ARE AFRAID TO FACE THE PERSON IN THE MIRROR,  I want to say that the process if easy and that after a few powerful confirmations then you got it but it is not. Some days you wake feeling like the Queen Sheba and other days you will wake up feeling like Sh*t. I am just being honest, I know for myself I constantly battling between the woman that I am and the woman that I want to become, But once I  confronted the person in the mirror it became easier to deal with so many othe...

Who Can Love You Better

I think one of the hardest things that I had to learn as I began to grow into the woman that I am becoming is to learn how to love myself. I know that for some to hear this its with that you do or your don’t but if you live long enough and endure life then you will understand that sometimes this world can bring you so low that you began to loathe the image looking back at you in the mirror. Not loving one often comes from not truly knowing oneself and the power that is inside you. Self-hatred has nothing to do with looks, body shape or insecurities and everything to do with the love. Not truly loving oneself, what love is and not knowing your higher power.   I really don’t know when I fell out of love with myself but I know how I fell back in love with Destiny and the steps I took to get there. 1.        Let Go of my pain and anxiety a.        This would be one the hardest things that I had to endure. I mean I h...

What is GOD calling you to DO?

I had the great blog in my mind to write for y'all on Saturday but literally as I set down to write it my mind went blank.I tried for two days to get back my message and then I realized that my internal conflict has been creating a mental block. You see I am believer in Jesus Christ and although I never push my religion on anyone I still try my best to live my life according to his will. I have not write been doing that I mean I have recharged my passion which is non profit work with hopes of creating a HOPE center for my city but there has been another calling tugging at my heart that I have been trying for the last six months trying to ignore or maybe out run but then I heard a word .. You can not out run  God. John 14:15 state " I you love me, you will obey what I command". I have not been doing that I have been running afraid of what people might think about me, not wanting to become a hypocrite or the type of "church folk" that i always talk about bu...

Let Me Love You

As I sit in my living room speaking to my other half and although we have known each other for such a long time it was only when we faced adversity and possibly losing each other that we realized that in order for us to truly be in love that, we first had to allow love in our lives. Although, we would like to think that we are better than our parents and because we are grown that our childhood doesn’t really impact our adult decision but truth is that it does. I mean, I was personally ready to throw fifteen tears away because I didn’t truly know how to give a 100 % of myself to someone else. So, here are a few things that we learned that help build our relationship and actually made love our love so much deeper … I hope it helps  1.       Let Go our your past : Throughout life we tend to pick up baggage from our past whether it be the divorce of our parents, parents not being our lives, not having parents, past relationships, wh...

Clean it up

It is so weird that when I look at so many people that I encounter that amongst all the other craziness, one thing that I have noticed that we have some where stepped back from taking accountability for our actions. WE have grown accustom to playing the victim card regardless of the situation.  I was raised in a Christian household and if my parents didn’t instill nothing else in I was taught to always hold myself accountable for the decisions that I make because Romans 14:12 states “So then each of us will give an account of himself to God. “  Which really always stuck with me that when it is my time give my curtain call and I have to my one on one with God, he is not going to ask me, Why I did the things that I did or even who I did them with but he will ask of my to account for my own actions. I am by no means stating that people do not wrong you, that you will walk this life and never be the victim but what I will give you this passage of comfort th...

Do Not Resuscitate

This has been on my mind for a while so yall know that I would not be me if I didn’t express this. You see I am currently taking courses at Liberty University as I expand my own knowledge and I also get to learn more about the Lord which is a double major for me. But as I build my relationship with God, he often speaks to me. A week ago I saved a picture quote on my phone that read, “Stop watering things that were never meant to grow in your life”, funny thing is the quote was posted by Bishop TD Jakes. Now if you follow me on any of my social media pages then you would know that I post a lot of inspirational and thought provoking stuff but something about this quote just stuck to me and as I stroll down my time and I notice the turmoil of not only the world with all the violence but people and their individual lives and God spoke so clearly when he told me I had to expound upon this the meaning behind the message. I see so many people trying to breathe life into a situa...
